The Prince of the North is my “prequel” series, as these books were written after The Daughters of Agendale series. They follow the account of the great king of Abynàea, Eldemel, known as the High King. In the murky ages of history, Eldemel, a descendant of two of the most powerful and ancient races in Àea, braved insurmountable odds and deadly foes, going on to set up the single greatest kingdom on the continent of Abynàea, his realm eventually stretching from coast to coast, and nurtured many other kingdoms with it. But the formation of that great kingdom, called Alest Eranon, would come at great cost, both to Eldemel’s people, and to him personally.

Emeld, a humble farmer’s son, lives with his three brothers on an estate in the northern lands of Ilianor, within the Kingdom of Vanlavel. But his mother left years ago, leaving her husband and their five children for unknown reasons, and leaving behind a mysterious gem. When the gem is stolen, Emeld goes on a quest to retrieve it, and unwittingly collides with the destinies of a fallen angel, a mad king, and a mysterious villain behind it all, unravelling a rivalry from the dawn of civilization.

Eldemel’s kingdom is secure and flourishing. Or is it? Unrest troubles the High King as friends and enemies new and old press upon him, along with the coming of a terrible evil, foretold from the time the world was remade in the Founding Age. Will Eldemel, Alest Eranon, or Abynàea itself be ready for the advent of the Fire King? Or will the world itself wither and burn under the tyrannical fury of the First Archdemon, Neyrlor, who seeks once more to supplant his maker.
